Acronyms are words that are formed from the initial letters of a name, such as WAC for Women’s Army Corps or by combining initial letters or parts of a series of words, such as scuba for self-contained underwater breathing apparatus.
The Reader’s Digest recently shared some common product names that are acronyms. (I get interesting emails from Reader’s Digest.)
